Mudi national specialty – aug. 6-9th, 2026
we attended the 3rd annual mudi national specialty this year in lebanon, pa! we were off to quite a rocky start before we even got there, unfortunately. On the way to the show venue, we were all involved in a car crash which resulted in a huge damper in our outlook for the week, before it even started. we are all okay and unharmed however, which was something to be thankful for! as the weekend progressed, we did continue to run into bad luck; rhea became exhausted from the lack of air conditioning in the show building & her unwillingness to eat & drink while traveling – resulting in an emergency vet visit. after some IV fluids, she was thankfully feeling much better and came home the same afternoon. while we didn’t get to compete to our full potential between the unfortunate events, we did still walk away with some wins & accomplishments!
Regerastace jadoo – spell – made her debut in AKC conformation and walked away with some impressive wins in the puppy/junior sweepstakes and in the regular breed classes. on the day of the specialty, she was awarded first in her class and competed beautifully among a lovely lineup of bitches in winner’s bitch.
graves farm wolf’s out of the bag – quil – finished his akc championship in style by going winner’s dog on saturday’s supported entry day for a huge 5 point major! on sunday he showed for the first time as a special under judge pat trotter, & made a cut in a large entry of mudis!
roka bloodlust – aro – showed very well on the days he was entered, friday & saturday! while he didn’t get any love in the show ring, he did finish out his dock senior excellent title, which is a great accomplishment for us!
regerastace calyspo – rhea – showed great for the remainder of the weekend despite her emergency room visit on the day of the specialty! on thursday she made a cut in the group of special bitches under judge jimmy moses. she was awarded the prestigious shortest splash award in dock diving by jumping a whopping 1’5″ off the dock, two times in a row. on a serious note, she was also recognized by the mudi club of america’s versatility program at our dinner on saturday evening. despite our setbacks, we’re very proud of our girl!
twisted acres pressed for time – rush – showed in the special attraction brace class with his half-brother, Ryder! both dogs showed great and were awarded 2nd place out of 10 total brace teams!
menagerie some enchanted evening – vesper – came to compete in the special attraction (for fun only) altered class! vesper has never been in a show ring before since she grew out of the standard so quickly, however she is a very food motivated girl and still remembered how to free stack like she learned when she was a puppy. vesper won best altered bitch in the show against two other lovely altered females. we both had lots of fun together! she did also come to compete in fastcat again, hoping to reclaim her title of “fastest mudi”, but just fell short by a few fractions of a second! despite her older age and extra padding, she was still one of the fastest dogs who ran that weekend, being #6 overall!
new agility jumpers title! – june 28th 2026
rhea has been formally training for agility for about 8 months now, and recently made her debut earlier this year in novice A! it’s been an experience for both of us and we had come close to Q’ing several times before snagging our first Q the weekend prior to her titling in novice agility jumpers! she scored all first places in her jump height, and her last 2 Q’s needed were perfect scores of 100 pts! she also earned 2 Q’s in novice standard as well, and almost earned her NA, but just got a little too excited on the teeter. we will hopefully be able to finish out that title before she becomes a mother later this year!
fishersville, virginia, june 4th – 7th 2026
fishersville is one of our favorite show circuits of the summer! the skyline kennel club offers conformation, dock diving and rally trials on saturday and sunday. there was some tough competition in the show ring being amongst two of the top ranked mudis in the breed this weekend, but rhea did manage a best of breed/best of breed owner handled win under judge mr. james albrecht for another 3 point major! this leaves her with just a few more points needed to secure her bronze grand championship.
in rally, rhea made her debut in the excellent class after our last trial at the mudi regional specialty show in november 2025. on saturday, she walked away with a perfect score of 100 points and a first place! sunday was a less impressive win, but still a qualifying run and a third place finish! she and her boyfriend ryder got to match with their rosettes from his placements in the rally advanced class!
aro got some time in on the dock – after about 9 months since his last dock event; although his jumps weren’t as great as they have been in the past, aro did secure an invite to the nadd regionals by jumping consistently enough, which is a great win in our book! he is left with just two more jumps needed for his dsx title.
above all, we had the best time with our friends, all while showing off how versatile the mudi can be!
